Craftsmanship and repetitive movements both play an important role in the outcome of my art. Through repetition, I am able to meditate and reflect on the possible outcomes. The work is formed through an instinctual and intuitive process, dictated by a set of self-prescribed rules. By using unconventional materials, I can explore their capabilities and invite the viewer to explore evolutionary processes. 


Mason Hurley is a visual artist living and working in central New York State. He recently his MFA in Sculpture at the University of Maryland in College Park, MD. He received his B.F.A. from Plattsburgh State University in Plattsburgh, NY.
